In our lifetimes, we have witnessed how human beings have inadvertently altered the balance of our two great and inter-connected planetary cycles, the carbon cycle and the water cycle, leading to increasing climatic instabilities and human misery worldwide.
This workshop seeks to explore the question : how could a deeper spiritual understanding of the carbon cycle and the water cycle inform and energize our efforts to restore the integrity of life on Earth?
We will explore restoration in the context of the climate crisis, with personal prayer and spiritual conversations on God’s creation and the incarnation, passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. Inspired by the dynamic of the Spiritual Exercises, the weekend will allow space for discernment and the movement of the Spirit.
Including presentations on earth systems and large-scale restoration projects, we will explore the social and spiritual values needed for the climate transition and our personal ecological response.
