PRAYING THE LABYRINTH

With David Birchall SJ and Gillian Goddard - April 22-26, 2013

The permanent Labyrinth at St Beuno’s is based on the design of Chartres Cathedral.

There are many different ways to pray the labyrinth. We shall be trying out a number of way of walking and praying the labyrinth, both individually and as a group.

We shall look at the history of the labyrinth as well as looking at the different styles of labyrinths and some of the idea behind them. Weather permitting we shall go and draw our own labyrinths on a local sandy beach.

Labyrinth by CandlelightThe retreat begins with a group introduction to praying the labyrinth. There will be the opportunity for group sharing and some individual guidance during the retreat.

You can use the Labyrinth as much or as little as you like during the retreat. The retreat will generally be in silence as an aid to prayer.

Nb. The published 2013 programme contains an error in stating that the retreat is a workshop followed by an individually guided retreat. This event is one integrated whole.
