Gerard J. Hughes SJ

A seminar with presentations by Fr Gerard J. Hughes S.J., looking at
the interplay between moral absolutes and human rights; an area particularly
relevant to many controversial ethical issues of today. Among other
things we will consider how far it is legitimate to claim certain things
are always wrong in whatever circumstances, the place of divinely inspired
scriptures, the Natural Law, whether there are certain 'Human Rights'
that are inviolate and the place of the individual human conscience.
Fr Gerry has an accessible, lively and interactive style. The Seminar
will comprise of talks, private study time, group seminars, and case
studies.
The group for this seminar will join with the people on the "Three-Month
Spirituality Programme" for this event.
The Semiar will begin on the evening of the 4th of March and end after
breakfast on the 9th. (The last session ends by 5.45pm on the 8th)
